Born on an island in the Philippines; Awi always felt the need to discover and capture the great outdoors. Awi studied Communication & Media Design in the Netherlands and Film and Television Production in England.

During his studies, Awi researched the process of narrative persuasion: attitude and behavioural changes derived from the stimuli of a film. He seeks for new ways of persuasive storytelling by blurring the lines between fiction and documentary. He believes in the power of storytelling, and that a big part of protecting nature is to let people see it, understand it, and empathise with it.

His latest work is “My Mother Nature”, a documentary film about an experienced outdoorsman who takes a foster child into the wilderness and introduces him to Mother Nature.
