Anneke Blokker has studied Biology (Amsterdam) and Forestry and Nature Conservation (Delft) and for the last seven years worked as an urban ecologist for the municipality of Amsterdam.
Part of her job is stimulating green and biodiversity in the city by making sure it’s embedded in the policy and included in urban planning. So together with urban planners and (landscape)architects she co-creates a healthy city to live in.
She has also done a lot of research on protected plant- and animal species in case of spatial developments. For example, this includes bats, birds, snakes, foxes, fishes, amphibians, orchids.., the whole lot.
