"A unique exploration of some of the
remotest places on earth combined with
stunning photography of both wildlife
and local culture."
eye on… celebrates the huge natural diversity of this planet by looking through the lens of wildlife photographer, Dos Winkel — whose work conjures up the richness of our natural and cultural heritage in all its grandeur. His images have been published in magazines, books and calendars the world over and have received numerous awards, including a top prize in the prestigious DIVE SIGHTS 2001 awards.
Along with uncovering exotic new worlds and the fantastic creatures that inhabit them, eye on… focuses on indigenous peoples who have maintained a close living relationship with their land. As guardians of what are often fragile ecosystems, they help us rethink our attitudes to our natural world. Sustainable development – the new catch call for the future – has formed the basis of their cultures for centuries. |

Almost every day we hear of a new attack on the environment… it sometimes seems as though we are powerless to do anything to stop the mounting destruction. Yet all around the world individuals are finding ways to fight back. Their work is inspiring others… showing us opportunity and hope in the face of crisis.
It is these special characters that eye on… puts a special focus on.
